    About the Job:

    The Customer Support Specialist will combine an eager desire to help people with strong technical aptitude to provide first level support to employees and students across the university. They'll work to ensure that employees can effectively use the tools needed to do their work and that our students have access to the resources necessary to be active learners.


    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Building and maintaining user trust through excellence in customer service.
    • Providing first level contact and advocacy for quick resolutions to customer issues.
    • Ensuring customer issues are directed to the appropriate resources.
    • Working with customers to develop independent problem solving processes.
    • Following up with customers to ensure needs are met and issues resolved.
    • Proactively engaging customers to anticipate their future needs.
    • Creating and maintaining process documentation for internal and external use.
    • Providing training to customers individually and collectively.
    • Recommending internal procedure and technical changes based on customer feedback.
    • Learning something new every day!
    • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
    • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
    • Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    We're looking for candidates who have:

    • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
    • Exceptional listening and problem solving skills.
    • A strong technical aptitude and demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly.
    • Comfort communicating with customers via multiple channels including telephone, in-person and various electronic mail and messaging applications.
    • The demonstrated ability to switch quickly between tasks and handle interruptions gracefully.
    • The ability to explain complex and technical concepts in plain language.
    • The ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, including on telephone, and to understand and follow instructions.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States. This position does not offer visa sponsorship; therefore, only applicants who do not require sponsorship for employment visas, now or at any point in the future, should apply.
