A boutique law firm in New Jersey is actively seeking a new Legal Assistant for a promising opportunity with their growing staff.
Responsibilities:The Legal Assistant will:
- Process e-court correspondence
- Attach to electronic system/print for filing (e-courts emails)
- Update electronic records as relevant
- Distribute internally via email to appropriate attorneys/staff
- Identify document for filing
- Sort for hard copy distribution
- Scan incoming mail / faxes / FedEx
- Organize filed appeals for billing department
- Assist with service of filed pleadings
- Perform other duties, as needed
- 1 year of experience in a Legal role/setting
- High School Diploma / GED
- Experience with basic Administrative functions
- Computer savvy
- Microsoft Office Suite proficient
- Solid problem solving and time management skills
- Exceptional phone etiquette
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
- Knowledge of Legal terminology
