Job Overview: We have an immediate need to hire a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Legal Secretary. As a Legal Secretary, you will provide administrative support to attorneys and legal professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of our legal office.
Duties:
- Perform general clerical duties, including answering phone calls, taking messages, and handling correspondence
- Organize and maintain legal documents and files in both electronic and physical formats
- Prepare, proofread, and edit legal documents, such as contracts, briefs, and pleadings
- Conduct legal research using various resources, including Matrix
-Transcribing attorney dictation and meeting notes
- Assist with the drafting of legal documents, including contracts and agreements
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings for attorneys
- Coordinate travel arrangements for attorney in multi-county jurisdiction
- Assist with billing and invoicing processes
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or similar role
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in data entry and document management systems
- Excellent proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in legal documents
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
- Knowledge of Matrix is preferred
- Experience in legal drafting is a plus
