General Summary
Responsible for administration of consumer/mortgage lending portfolios and supervision of designated sales/service lending staff. Responsible for ensuring financial stability in lending practices commensurate with the best interest of the members, the employees, and the credit union.
Essential Functions
1. Manage the day-to-day operation of consumer/mortgage lending portfolios, which includes servicing of mortgage and consumer loans, escrow disbursements, planning, recommending, and implementing lending programs, products and policies/procedures.
2. Analyze the lending workflow on a continuous basis to improve efficiency/reduce cost and use staff and facilities most efficiently.
3. Maintain knowledge and ensure that the lending areas are in compliance with the state/federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other government regulatory agencies.
4. Recruit and select quality applicants for lending area vacancies, ensuring that the credit union is adequately staffed with highly motivated competent sales staff with effective teamwork ability.
5. Hold staff meetings to discuss areas needing improvement, changes in procedures, and new developments for products/services and to present general information needs to sales staff.
6. Evaluate and schedule job performance reviews of designated staff to ensure quality of work and service is being performed for members and credit union needs.
7. Provide backup support in financial counseling for members based on results of interviewing to approve or deny member of deposit and/or consumer lending products within product guidelines set for the credit union.

1. Conduct oneself and actively support co-management in monitoring staff to ensure a professional manner, positive attitude and appearance are being maintained in all credit union activities.

3. Support security and safety for all branches, taking responsibility to help analyze security and safety policies/procedures, and to alert security areas of needs/changes
4 Complete in-house training based on required classes set up for this position.
5. Assist in any area as directed by President.
Job Specifications
1. Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills essential for communicating information
to staff, vendors and projecting a positive image as representative of the credit union.
2. Work requires extensive knowledge of the consumer/mortgage lending policies and procedures with experience in managing lending sales staff. Five years’ experience in loan portfolio management required.
3. Knowledge of accounting, management techniques, and business administration required.
4. Intensive fact-finding and investigation ability required to solve issues. Mathematical skills are essential (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
5. Considerable judgment ability is required. Analyzes complicated factual situations, applies functional principles and develops solutions. Involves a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists. Involves work governed by broad instructions and usually involves frequently changing conditions and problems.
