Job Summary

The Carnegie Free Library of McKeesport serves nine municipalities with a combined population of 53,000, operating a main library in McKeesport and two branches located in White Oak Borough and The City of Duquesne.

This is a full-time position which requires a MLS degree and visionary and leadership qualities. Two years experience working a public library preferred

Applications must include a letter of interest, resume, and three professional references. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Library & Information Science from an ALA accredited school and must provide all State & FBI fingerprint clearances with completed application (Act 34, Act 114, and Act 151) Salary negotiable based on experience. Responsibilities

• Oversee library operations, ensuring efficient service delivery and user satisfaction.
• Manage library staff, providing training and support to enhance customer service and organizational skills.
• Develop and maintain the library's collection, utilizing cataloging and data entry skills.
• Implement and manage integrated library systems and databases for effective information retrieval.
• Conduct research and data collection to inform library programs and services.
• Foster community engagement through outreach programs and effective communication.
