Director of Guest Services

Delta Technical College, an established career college with campuses throughout the Midwest and Mississippi Delta region, is seeking a full-time Director of Guest Services for our Cosmetology Salon in Horn Lake, Mississippi campus.

GOAL: Will be responsible for the successful operations of the Horn Lake, Mississippi Salon. Will act as the first point of contact for customers who visit our school salon or contact us to learn about our services and ensure 100% satisfaction from the time our guests arrive at the salon until they leave. Schedule flexibility is necessary.

This position will ultimately boost our reputation by building friendly, trusting relationships with customers and aid in growing overall community awareness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have significant experience in the Cosmetology field
• Must exhibit a passion for the beauty industry.
• Highly organized
• Ability to manage clients to ensure 100% service satisfaction
• General bookkeeping and business finance skills
• Excellent communication and team-leading skills
• Interest and ability to continue learning about market standards and changes in trends
• Must have schedule flexibility.
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time and move quickly to accomplish many tasks

JOB DUTIES:

• Follow the Program policies and procedures
• Processing transactions (cash and credit cards) and issuing receipts
• Opening, closing, and balancing cash drawer
• Retrieve phone messages
• Welcome walk-ins, answer questions about services and schedule appointments based on availability
• Schedule and confirm appointments for guests and students via phone and email
• Encourage salon business by creating salon specials, promotions, and events
• Inform clients about new services and promotions
• Cross-sell services and products when appropriate
• Update clients records with contact and billing details, appointments, and services offered
• Follow and model proper guest handling procedures
• Responsible for keeping the reception area clean at all times
