Are you compassionate, energetic, and FUN? We may be a match! The Wilber Care Center is currently looking for a Life Enrichment/Activities Director to join our team. At Wilber Care Center "Caring Is Our Calling" and at the forefront of the care we provide is ensuring that our residents enjoy a fun and fulfilling life. The Enrichment/Activities Director will plan, collaborate, coordinate, and lead the Life Enrichment and Activities program.

Responsibilities Include:

• Planning, coordinating, and implementing meaningful activities and events and comprehensive life enrichment support.
• Development of monthly program calendars and schedules that reflect social, intellectual, spiritual, physical, and recreational opportunities to promote a holistic well-being.
• A focus on community outreach to facilitate partnerships with volunteers (community and resident), organizations, and resources to enhance the program.
• Coordinating and communicating with staff members, volunteers, families, and team members.
• Oversee and organize group activities, special events, and travel for offsite activities.
• Influence and encourage residents to participate in group activities as well as person centered activities.
• Develop assessments and plans of care for each resident supported and maintain required documentation.

Requirements:

• A great attitude, willingness to have fun, a passion for working with others, and a desire to promote life enrichment for the residents.
• Must be at least 19 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be proficient in the use of current technology and social media.
• Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility, which include a medical and physical examination.
• Must be able to pass applicable background checks.
• Position is generally Monday through Friday Daytime hours but may require some evening, weekend, and limited holiday availability to cover events.
• Previous relevant experience as an Activity Director/ Life Enrichment preferred, but not required.
• Prefer a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist with one year of experience in a long-term care facility or geriatric setting; a bachelor's degree with one year of experience in the provision of recreational services in a long-term care facility or geriatric setting; an individual who has successfully completed a qualifying course of instruction in recreational services or an applicant with two years of full-time experience in a resident activities program in a health care setting.
