Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal with prior experience to join our legal team. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will provide essential support to our attorneys in all stages of the litigation process, including, communicating with clients, preparing and organizing discovery, and drafting letters and basic legal documents. This is an opportunity to contribute to complex legal cases and work in both collaborative and independent work environments.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery - Conduct legal research using various resources, including Westlaw
- Organize and maintain case files
- Communicate with clients and conduct client intakes
- Draft correspondence
- Coordinate with external parties, such as opposing counsel, court personnel, and witnesses
- Review and summarize deposition transcripts and other discovery materials
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing trial binders and exhibits
Requirements:
- At least 2 years prior experience as a Litigation Paralegal or similar role
- Experience with legal research tools (e.g. Westlaw)
- Knowledge of legal procedures and terminology related to litigation
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work product
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Word
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
