Being a Localization Engineer tests localized products according to test specifications. Identifies, prioritizes and fixes localization bugs according to established procedures. Additionally, Localization Engineer applies working knowledge of networks, operating systems, hardware, software, and testing/production environments in performing work assignments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Localization Engineer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     The Anduril Imaging team develops state-of-the-art imaging systems, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies. The Imaging Software team is seeking a Senior Navigation and Localization Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will develop software to geo-register and analyze sensor imagery collected from a moving platform. Successful candidates will have experience with visual-inertial navigation and image processing.

    What You’ll Do

    • Implement software to estimate the position of a moving platform based on multiple sensor inputs, including those from inertial and imaging systems
    • Develop algorithms for accurately geo-registering, enhancing, and analyzing imagery collected from a moving platform
    • Collaborate closely with other experts on the team, including perception, tracking & navigation, and systems engineers to deliver cutting-edge, real-time imaging systems

    Required Qualifications

    • Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
    • 3 years of C experience
    • Experience with sensor calibration, sensor fusion, state estimation, and SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) techniques
      • Experience with navigation, localization, and positioning systems design and development
      • Experience working with state estimation methods such as Kalman filtering, Extended Kalman filtering, and other estimation techniques
    • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience applying real-time pose localization algorithms from robotics to enhance the accuracy and robustness of aerospace vehicle navigation
    • Image processing and Computer Vision experience will be a strong plus
    • Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases

    US Salary Range

    $168,000—$252,000 USD
