Job Summary:
The Transportation Logistic specialist analyzes and evaluates data from current and proposed transportation projects and systems. This role will be accountable for ensuring companies are meeting financial commitments compared to plan. He/she will have specific budget accountability and will ensure integration of operating principles for all entities related to outside carrier shipments.
Duties/ Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing all carrier files, including the Certificate of insurance, Annual Contracts Signed and Carrier ratings with FMCSA.

Performs requests for proposals (RFPs) for out-of-state loads for all three divisions.

Imports orders from entities located in Selma and Hanford (HRBC & CVM) to source load rates.

Provided load rates and awarded carrier information back to teams daily for internal routing.

Issues P.O.'s for each load of record.

Analyses all carrier invoicing for approval and passes it on to Director.

Controls annual carrier selection for the entire company each year in October.

Gathers reporting data weekly for Director on outside carriers as well as company routes.

Works closely with Logistic leadership at each location to source needed carriers for available loads and communicates regularly.

Utilization of multiple computer systems to source needed loads daily.

Operation of TMS system to populate truck boards for internal teams and provide to awarded carriers.

Studies proposed transportation projects, analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the plans.

Evaluates the legality of current and proposed transit infrastructure.

Completes annual reports for government agencies as required by law.

Drafts reports outlining findings and recommendations on logistics performance.
- Recommends modifications to current plans to improve efficiency, reduce environmental impact, reduce cost, and implement other improvements.

Presents plans to the Director of transportation.

Adheres to timeline and budgetary constraints.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear reports, communicate findings, and articulate proposals.

Thorough understanding of government transport and planning policies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:

Associates Degree preferred.

At least five years of related experience is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
