  • Position Summary:

    We are looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator to be responsible for overseeing our company's transportation-related activities. In this role, you'll be keeping track of transportation operations and ensuring that all policies, procedures, and safety rules are followed.

    To be a successful Logistics Coordinator, you should possess exceptional leadership skills and maintain the company's high standard of customer service. Ultimately, a top-notch Logistics Coordinator should be able to display extensive knowledge of transportation management systems and have excellent analytical skills.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Monitor the routes of the assigned distribution center so that the products reach our customers.
    • Provide the team (Driver and Route Leader) for each route for the following day to the planner.
    • Direct all operational processes associated with the direction of traffic and transport logistics.
    • Planning, organizing, and managing subordinate staff members to ensure work is completed and consistent with the company's standards.

    • Ensure efficient deliveries, that is, that the transport arrives at the indicated place, in the agreed time, with the correct product and in good condition.
    • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in logistics transport, in order to optimize customer service, business profitability, and productivity.
    • Planning, organizing, and managing subordinate staff members to ensure work is completed and consistent with the company's standards.
    • Supervise the carriers and provide solutions in real-time in case there is an incident during the delivery.
    • The Logistics Coordinator must schedule the overhaul, repair, and maintenance of the vehicle fleet.
    • Maintain all DC equipment in good maintenance and schedule repairs if necessary.
    • Responsible on keeping all units with the 5S standard.
    • Make detailed reports on the logistics and transport process.
    • Control transport costs.
    • Cross-departmental collaboration to improve communication and business performance.
    • Comfortable, composite closed-toe shoes and protective safety footwear are required in select business units.
    • Must be able to meet predictable attendance and punctuality expectations and physical demands of the position complying with Ethnix Group’s policies and performance expectations.
    • Ensure that all stores are close on Smart Delivery and ensure that all returns are credit on WMS.
    • Willing to travel for training or to assist other DC.

    Organizational Responsibilities:

    Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).

    Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, warehouse, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individual(s).

    Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve the site's efficiency, profitability, and productivity.

    Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, logistics tools, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training programs and by accessing other sources of information, and applies knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility.

    Work Hours (may vary by state or location):

    This position is scheduled for 40 hours in a regular work week. Hours of operation vary by site and shift. Must be available to work on weekends when scheduled and must be able to perform the essential job functions unaccompanied.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Experience:

    High school diploma or GED certificate. Three years of commercial transportation experience including experience dispatching commercial vehicles on fixed and variable route assignments. Experience maintaining DOT files reviewed driver performances and disciplined when necessary. Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity is desirable.

    Language Ability:

    Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to comprehend and complete legal documents, and answer questions in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

    Math Ability:

    Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions, and calculate percentages in order to complete reports, inventory, payroll, budgets, and other reporting information.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to:

    • Oversee, coordinate, and participate in the daily operations and activities of the Transportation department.
    • Oversee assignment of driver routes and special events.
    • Review routes and schedules to accommodate changes.
    • Train, supervise and evaluate assigned staff.
    • Plan and coordinate driver safety and training programs.
    • Assess transportation needs and develop viable plans and alternatives.
    • Prepare and maintain a variety of records, logs, lists, files, and reports.
    • Interpret, apply, and explain applicable laws, codes, rules, and regulations.
    • Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer and assigned software.
    • Observe legal and defensive driving practices.
    • Understand and resolve issues and complaints.
    • Plan and organize work.
    • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.

    Computer Skills:

    Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, warehouse management software (Word, Excel, Microsoft TEAMS, WMS). Previous experience with transportation scheduling and routes software/App. preferred. Ability to learn proprietary software/hardware as necessary.

    Certificates and Licenses:

    DOT preferred.

    Incumbents work in an unconditioned warehouse environment temperature may vary in some parts of the warehouse (cooler/freezer), but also have frequent exposure to outside elements where temperature, weather, odors, and/or landscape may be unpleasant and/or hazardous . You’ll be working around moving machines – order pickers, stand-up forklifts, turret trucks, and mobile carts. Depending on the weather, temperatures can be over 90°F in the truck yard or inside trailers.

    Routine, local travel may be required to attend training classes, conduct market research, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position.
