Logistics Manager

· Location Name: Customized Trucking

1) Summary: Responsible for all aspects of daily operations of the Dedicated Contract Carriage fleet that provides delivery to customers and various other transportation activities. Also includes implementation and monitoring of solid logistics process and personnel management to achieve adherence to pre-established customer critical success factors. Finally, responsible to communicate information and ideas to others at all levels of both the Customized and customer’s organization.

2) Organization Status: Reports to the Senior Logistics Manager. Office staff and drivers report to this position. Interacts with all employees concerning short term and long-term duties and goals. Also interacts with Customized management, Customized support personnel and key customer contacts concerning operational issues

3) Work Performed:

· Customer Service Satisfaction and Expectation Management

o Monitor business goals for location including operating goals, service goals, and safety requirements.

o Provide regular timely customer reports and key performance indicators to measure business performance

o Collaborate with customers regularly to enhance service, communicate performance and anticipate needs.

· Staffing, Performance Management and Development of Employees

o Hire, develop, motivate and retain employees.

o Set and maintain job requirements, qualification profiles, licensing, insurance and liability requirements.

o Track and improve the skill levels of employee so they can meet customer and operating requirements.

o Observe, research, monitor and measure employee performance against operating goals.

o Plan, coordinate and deliver training in safety, customer business, quality service and professional technical skills.

o Provides final approval for weekly payroll preparation.

· Health and Safety Management

o Plan and conducting safety audits, safety meetings and safety training programs.

o Implement and support safety awards and incentive programs.

o Investigate incidents and determine compensability.

· State/Local/Federal Regulations Compliance

o Ensures compliance to government and Customized regulations and policies, takes corrective actions where necessary.

o Post interview and hire according to the ADA and other federal and state requirements.

o Implement targeted programs to ensure operation meets immediate compliance needs.

· Transportation / Freight Sales Experience

o Experience identifying high-volume, high revenue opportunities

o Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth

4*. Consequence of Error / Impact of Decisions*:

• Decisions impact customer service and satisfaction, employee relations and profitability of the account.

5. Supervision Received:

• Supervision and Performance Management for this position is the responsibility of the Senior Logistics Manager.

6*. Working Conditions:*

· This position is located in an office area that is climate controlled.

7. Qualifications & Skills:

• Education - Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation or related field.
• Experience - Minimum of five years of industry related/management experience.
• Skills

o Knowledge of Profit and Loss Statements

o Customer service skills

o Proficiency in MS Office

o Extraordinary leadership and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
