Job Summary:
PIC Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong environmental background to oversee and manage the cleanup and remediation efforts at a power generation facility in Ohio. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating the cleanup of contaminated areas, including streambeds, detention ponds, and other areas on the plant grounds. This role involves overseeing the collection, storage, and disposal of waste, as well as managing any long-term improvements to the affected areas. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in environmental remediation, project management, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the cleanup and remediation of contaminated streambeds both inside and outside project boundaries.
- Oversee the cleanup and remediation of detention ponds.
- Coordinate the collection, storage, and disposal of all waste materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Lead the initial cleanup of the generator step-up area, including containment and remediation efforts.
- Manage the demolition of the generator step-up containment and the construction of new containment structures.
- Oversee modifications to the detention pond and manage long-term improvements to the streambed.
- Provide project updates and status reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and safety standards throughout the cleanup process.
- Collaborate with contractors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones and goals are met.
- Manage schedules and budgets to ensure the successful completion of all remediation efforts.
- Plan and execute preparation for the installation of a new transformer after the cleanup and remediation efforts are completed.
Job Requirements:
- Project Management Experience: Proven experience managing environmental cleanup and remediation projects, particularly in industrial or power plant settings.
- Environmental Expertise: Strong understanding of environmental regulations, waste disposal processes, and remediation techniques.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including contractors and regulatory agencies.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear project updates and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations related to waste management, soil contamination, and water quality.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical requirements include working on feet for long periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing; and routinely lifting 75 pounds.
- Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high voltage protective equipment, etc.).
- Work with hazardous materials may be required.
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- 5 years of experience in environmental project management, with a focus on remediation and cleanup efforts in industrial or power plant settings.
