Summary
Directs workflow, monitors workload and supervises a group of employees engaged in logistics activities. Promotes, directs and supports activities in assigned area. Manages the onboarding of new customers, carriers and/or the order entry process from inception to invoicing. Ensures excellent customer service is provided to internal and external customers at each point of contact. Responsible for understanding and aligning their efforts against the Organization’s Strategic Vision while supporting the execution of the Business Unit’s goals including scheduling, capacity support, increasing efficiency and reducing costs.
Essential Functions

Coordinates the day-to-day operations by leading and directing a group of employees to assure a smooth workflow.
Assigns, monitors, and reviews the progress and accuracy of work assigned.
Responsible for the orientation and training of new hires, in addition to assigning tasks and reviewing the work of the team of direct reports.
Familiarizes employees with established policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Provides technical and process guidance on the complex issues.
Monitors and evaluates the ongoing effectiveness of policies, processes, services, and systems against customer needs.
Makes recommendations to ensure daily operations are effective and efficient; implements approved changes as directed.
Coordinates and integrates activities with other internal departments to meet customer needs.
Estimates personnel needs and ensures adequate staffing in order to meet pre-established completion dates and business demands.
Provides professional, efficient and effective customer interactions (email, incoming and outgoing phone calls, follow-up communications, responding to requests for information, etc.).
Responsible for developing, managing and disseminating reports and metrics to leaders, customers and/or suppliers as needed.
Processes G3 orders utilizing SAP and other internal systems.
Understands, documents and communicates job/order requirements and specifications including quantity, quality, schedule and delivery and any other items of importance to the customer.
Responsible for accurate collection of data required to facilitate customer orders and supports in communicating updates to customer orders as needed.
Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Develops, coaches and mentors subordinate staff. Develop, implement and enforce consistent discipline guidelines.
Conducts performance evaluations; reviews and communicates salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action, as necessary; addresses employee relations complaints and resolves issues.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of logistics, account management, customer service, manufacturing, and/or operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of G3 logistics, account management, customer service, manufacturing, and/or operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or high school diploma or State-issued equivalency and 7 years of logistics, account management, customer service, manufacturing, and/or operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or high school diploma or State-issued equivalency and 6 years of G3 logistics, account management, customer service, manufacturing, and/or operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
Strong knowledge of the logistics/transportation industry and common practices.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Software.
Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record; or required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to foster teamwork and motivate others to accomplish goals.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus 4 years logistics, account management, manufacturing, and/or operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
Experience with Production Management System(s), Transportation Management Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, and/or OTM.
Experience using systems such as SAP, Radius, etc.
Experience managing Quality standards and cost savings in a transportation/logistics environment.
Supervisory experience leading and developing high potential direct reports.
Ability to foster teamwork.
Experience working with and/or managing rail cars, carriers, and/or suppliers.
Experience using technical skills to troubleshoot issues and understand requirements
Decision-making skills.
Experience applying LEAN methodology.
Experiencing in using score cards and other analytical tools to manage performance.

Compensation
Hiring Salary Rate: $71, 900 - $89,900.
Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
