Machine Shop Maintenance Supervisor oversees personnel in charge of maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding various production machines and equipment. Supervises the maintenance and repair of pumps, grinders, mixers, and a variety of other machines. Being a Machine Shop Maintenance Supervisor oversees the setup and use of tools and equipment before production use in order to ensure the optimum level of safety. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Machine Shop Maintenance Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. The Shop Lead is responsible for leading the shop activities and executing them. Responsible for all extra tasks as needed from management. Must maintain clear communication with supervisor. Responsible for leading vehicle transportation, and work any additional hours needed to get the job done.
Schedule:Monday - Friday (7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
Responsibilities:
Works with the MVTS team to Install test products such as aerodynamic components, wheels, tires, lubricants, fuel, and oil additives.
Travel to our test facility periodically throughout the year. 2-5 days per trip. Extra compensation for travel.
Road test vehicles when required.
Leads shop activities and team.
Plans and assigns work responsibilities for employees working in the shop.
Plans test vehicle transportation with supervisor and executes.
Establishes policies for inspection, maintenance, and repair of vehicles; schedules repairs; assigns and directs activities of service and repair personnel; and follows up on repairs being made.
Contracts and outsources services not performed in our shop.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience leading a hands-on shop environment.
Supervisory experience
Minimum 2 years CDL Experience
Computer knowledge including email, task management software, time clock software.
