I am seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Mail Carrier substitute for a mail route in Winston, OR. As a sub, you will be responsible for delivering mail and packages to various locations. The position will be starting out 2 days a week and requires excellent driving skills. I will be taking some time off in the summer months so I will need this person to fill in more than usual during that time.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a van provided by owner to deliver mail and packages
- Load and unload mail and packages using equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or hand trucks
- Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups
- Communicate with customers in a professional and courteous manner
- Handle any customer inquiries or complaints promptly and effectively
Skills:
- Commercial driving experience preferred
- Ability to operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling tools
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and loading/unloading of packages
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers (if applicable)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
