    Construction Superintendent/QC Manager/SSHO

    General Contractor based in Norfolk, VA, has an immediate opening for an experienced Construction Superintendent/QC Manager/SSHO (Super) to join our team. Individual must possess at least 10 years of experience in a construction supervisory role.

    The Super will be responsible for all the on-site activities required throughout the construction process to successfully deliver a project on time and within budget. We are expanding and have jobs throughout Hampton Roads and outside of the area.

    The Construction Superintendent/QC Manager/SSHO position is a salaried, full-time position. This person works in conjunction with the Project Manager to plan and execute projects for the company. Some of the duties include overseeing all onsite work, working with the Owner and Subcontractors to ensure the projects run smoothly and safely. The Super must also be able to wear multiple hats and fill the QC Manager/SSHO position if required. This person will also need to be able to work independently while on site and be proficient with working electronically.

    Job Duties:

    • Ability to manage all field activities for medium and large sized projects of normal complexity.
    • Oversee onsite vendors/subcontractors/field workers and be able to manage both quality and timeliness of work.
    • Review submittals against project specifications and drawings
    • Package submittals
    • Develop RFI’s
    • Daily inspections, logs and reports
    • Work closely with Project Manager to ensure project runs smoothly on time, within budget and safely.
    • Perform all project start-up and close-out activities.
    • Thoroughly understand, organize, and maintain all project contract documents on a regular basis and electronically.
    • Assist the Project Manager with preparation of the project construction schedule in conjunction with input from the required Subcontractors.
    • Be able to identify work beyond normal scope and work with subcontractors and project manager for change orders or MODS as needed.
    • Manage the schedule to timely and successful completion.
    • Coordinate implementation of the final project budget with the Project Manager.
    • Conduct all pre-construction and construction meetings with the Project Manager.
    • Implement and enforce all required FAR and Quality Control procedures.
    • Implement and enforce all required OSHA and VOSH Safety procedures.
    • Must be able to access military facilities and pass a background check.
