The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations to support the vital work of Northlake Behavioral Health System. The successful candidate will have a strong background in fundraising and a proven track record of securing major gifts.
Key Responsibilities:
· Identify and research potential major donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporations.
· Develop and maintain a robust portfolio of major gift prospects.
· Build strong, lasting relationships with major gift prospects and donors.
· Create and implement tailored cultivation and stewardship plans for each donor.
· Develop compelling proposals and presentations to solicit major gifts.
· Collaborate with program leaders and hospital staff to create project-specific proposals.
· Ensure proper and timely processing of major gifts and pledges.
· Provide donors with appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
· Plan and execute donor engagement events and activities to build relationships and steward major donors.
· Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and contributions using a donor management system.
· Prepare regular reports on major gift progress and performance.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred).
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in major gift fundraising.
· Proven success in soliciting and closing major gifts.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Strong organizational and project management abilities.
· Understanding of the healthcare industry and hospital operations is a plus.
· Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and donors.
· Knowledge of fundraising software and databases.
