Job Summary
The Affordable Housing Development Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing JF’s affordable housing projects throughout Utah and Idaho. This senior-level position involves overseeing all facets of affordable housing development, from initial acquisition through project completion. The manager will be responsible for project feasibility, planning, design, entitlements, budgeting, and construction oversight, ensuring the successful delivery of affordable housing solutions that meet community needs.
Key Responsibilities
- : Spearhead affordable housing development projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in line with project scope and quality standards.
- : Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including feasibility analysis, market research, and site selection to identify and secure development opportunities.
- : Oversee planning, design, and entitlements, working closely with internal teams and external consultants to develop project concepts and secure necessary approvals.
- : Collaborate with construction teams to ensure projects adhere to timelines, budgets, and quality requirements, with a focus on affordable housing standards.
- : Develop and manage project budgets, conduct financial analyses, and ensure projects meet financial goals and leverage available funding sources, including public subsidies.
- : Engage with local authorities, community groups, financial partners, and other stakeholders to align project goals and ensure community needs are met.
- : Mentor and manage junior development staff, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
- : Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project status, risks, and key milestones.
- : Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning, environmental, and housing compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, urban planning, architecture, engineering, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in real estate development, with a strong background in affordable housing or multifamily projects.
- Deep understanding of the affordable housing development process, including market analysis, zoning & entitlements, and construction.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct oversight, taking initiative to drive projects forward and solve complex challenges autonomously.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, external partners, and stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and driving consensus to achieve project goals.
- Strong skills in negotiating contracts with vendors, contractors, and consultants, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with project objectives.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, project management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
