     The Plant Manager directs the activities of the plant, ensuring the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the power plant during all normal and emergency conditions. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures, promoting cooperation among all personnel, and ensuring effective production strategies and maintenance activity planning. 

    • Adheres to, supports, and complies with all company safety and environmental policies and practices.
    • Maintains discipline, morale, and employee relations in areas of responsibility, prepares performance reviews, salary      recommendations, and disciplinary recommendations.
    • Ensures strict regulatory compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal guidelines, regulations, and      associated permits.
    • Directs and coordinates operations and maintenance workforce production activities, including operations and maintenance to      meet production schedules, and establishes benchmarks for quality of work, resources required, and completion deadlines.
    • Oversees and/or develops the O&M expense and capital budgets, forecasts power generation and income, monitors actual      costs, and provides supporting documentation for any deviations.
    • Monitors, evaluates, and supports site supervision in ensuring plant compliance with all contractual requirements.
    • Responsible for implementing the site training and certification program for operations and maintenance personnel.
    • Proposes and implements equipment modifications and plant improvements.
    • Oversees and/or develops outage schedules to maximize plant performance and minimize downtime and costs.
    • Prepares various technical and administrative reports.
    • Interacts with company personnel for plant improvement studies, project reviews, safety audits, etc.
    • Approves purchase order requests within signature authority.
    • Responsible for the facility safety record and ensuring all company safety regulations are followed.
    • Advises the Managing Director of all activities of the power plant and personnel.
    • Ensures accurate and complete daily reports of the power plant production.
    • Actively monitors and reviews plant operating conditions, records, and performance.
    • Ensures maintenance work priorities are appropriate for operation’s needs.
    • Prepares and submits monthly department activity reports.
    • Develops facility budget and monitors budget performance.
    • Prepares and performs annual performance evaluations of direct subordinates.
    • Reviews and approves all Operations & Maintenance personnel performance evaluations completed by the plant Supervisors.

    Requirements

    • Detailed understanding of electrical generation power plants, including startup, operations, and maintenance of power plant equipment.
    • Minimum 5 years managerial or supervisory experience.
    • B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
    • 8 - 10 years power plant startup, operations, and maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and      experience.
    • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and project planning      software.
    • Ability to carry out assignments with minimal instruction or supervision.
    • Good organizational and computer skills.
    • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and read, interpret, and retrieve information from technical manuals and engineering      drawings.
    • Ability to use logical and divergent reasoning to solve problems.
    • Ability to work safely and effectively with others.
    • Good working knowledge of power plant instrumentation and controls, including routine maintenance.
    • Good working knowledge of most maintenance procedures.
