Ensures a high level of quality with respect to data integrity and the other major areas of responsibility of the Accounting function.
Provides quality assurance with respect to data integrity and the major areas of responsibility of the Accounting function in the form of periodic written certifications and other reporting as requested.
Places significant focus on standardization of processes, documentation of processes and promoting operational efficiency.

Major duties and responsibilities:
o Participate in the Accounting and Finance Department’s daily, weekly, monthly duties.
Includes preparing daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports (internal and external) for the Bank.
Assist in the analysis of financial statements.
Back-up other accounting department functions as necessary.
Assist CFO, treasury and accounting department as necessary.
Ensures compliance with financial and internal controls to safeguard the bank’s assets from theft, embezzlement, and misappropriation; makes suggestions for new or improved controls and efficiencies.
Assists other departments with their accounting questions and requests.
Actively engages in outreach to other departments on various topics including projects and deliverables.
Performs special projects related to area of responsibility.
Knowledge and skills:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field from four-year college or university; 3 years of related work experience in a financial institution.
Working knowledge of and practical experience with bank or other financial institution operating areas, functions, products and services preferred. Must have knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); must have or be able to quickly obtain in-depth knowledge of applicable Federal and state laws, and FFIEC/FRB banking rules and regulations.

• Strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Additional understanding of database programs and other financial accounting applications is desirable.
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
As a bank employee, you are responsible for following established policies and procedures related to bank regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), OFAC, and the USA Patriot Act. This includes attending required training, reporting all suspicious activity to the BSA Compliance Officer, and following policy/procedure as it pertains to your job responsibilities. Failure to follow established policies and procedures will result in disciplinary action that may include termination.
