Managing Attorney is responsible for managing the daily operations of a law firm or an organization's legal department. Provides leadership and participates in the most complex legal actions. Being a Managing Attorney directs law office operations, case assignments, and staffing. Oversees the activities and work products of subordinate attorneys. Additionally, Managing Attorney monitors case status, timelines, and issues. Mentors and coaches attorneys and implements staff professional development programs. Requires a JD. Requires State Bar membership. Typically reports to top legal executive. The Managing Attorney manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Managing Attorney typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Attorney for our client, a well-established law firm in Hollidaysburg, PA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in casualty and general liability, but will consider other areas of practice.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload from inception to resolution.
- Conduct legal research, analysis and draft legal documents.
- Conduct depositions, draft and argue motions, and attend court hearings.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and insurers.
- Participate in firm marketing and business development activities.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to develop case strategies.
Requirements:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Pennsylvania bar.
- 2-5 years of experience in casualty and/or general liability, but will highly consider other areas of practice as well.
- Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
