Southwark Metal Manufacturing Company is hiring a Director of Manufacturing for our corporate headquarters in Philadelphia, PA.
The Director of Manufacturing will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee all manufacturing operations to ensure production meets the required deadlines, quality standards, and is completed within the operational budget. Activities include the organization of and ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet the current and future needs of the organization.
The Director of Manufacturing will report to the President & CEO and will work out of our corporate headquarters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Key Accountabilities:
· Analyzes and designs effective manufacturing systems and processes to optimize equipment, material, personnel, and floor space in both manufacturing and warehouse areas. Ensures the manufacturing system maintains the highest level of service and on-time delivery without backorders, in the most efficient manner possible.
· Establishes efficient and effective production and warehousing processes through equipment optimization, lean manufacturing practices, and a continuous improvement mindset.
· Ensures that all work areas meet or exceed company-wide safety standards to maximize safe productivity from personnel, plant, and equipment.
· Creates Southwark's Quality System and works with all appropriate personnel in the education and implementation of such.
· Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the organization’s operations division. Assists the President with long range operating goals, expansion efforts, and the implementation of new and advanced technology.
· Management of all engineering functions and personnel. Ensures that all vendor and supplier materials meet any changes in requirements as it relates to equipment or processes.
· Reviews production schedule and inventory management to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, engineering, or other industry-related field and a minimum of 10 years industry-related experience including upper management.
· Strong leadership skills with a balance of the strategic and tactical.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Travel: This position may require up to 30% domestic travel.
