Manufacturing Engineering Technician

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician creates job procedures, detailed part drawings, and maintains manufacturing bill of materials; assist with cost estimates, product testing, assembly line efficiency, tooling assessments and modifications; and will assess and create jig fixtures or other assembly line tools to enhance the workflow process.
You Will:
- Work with Engineering Lead and Manufacturing Team to ensure the control of assembly and rework jobs through system, material, and documentation controls.
- Ensure records for manufacturing jobs are complete and accurate before the commencement of scheduled production.
- Create assembly procedures and documentation. Enter and maintain engineering deviation documentation.
- Ensure all manufacturing bills of material are accurate and updated.
- Complete the Engineering Change Request (ECR) process as related to on site production activities.
- Participate with Manufacturing to develop new processes for cost reduction, cycle reduction, and quality improvements.
- Work with manufacturing to determine space requirements for multiple tasks and plans or improve production method including layout, production flow, tooling, material, assembly, and staffing.
- Support in developing, documenting, creating, and improving products and more efficient manufacturing processes.
- Help develop and implement a system of policies, procedures, and tools for quality assurance to assess components and finished goods.
- Help ensure all products have been tested and evaluated for compliance with applicable codes and standards. Ensure certification samples are built and provided to appropriate staff for certification activities.
- Work with Engineering, Engineering Lab, QA, and Manufacturing to ensure all product safety concerns are reviewed and approved.
- Work with Manufacturing and Safety to ensure all Manufacturing processes are followed with attention to associate safety with focus on ergonomics and a safe, organized work environment.
- Travels to local or regional suppliers – including tooling, production, or other facilities.
- Directly involved in the manufacturing and quality control processes, and component integrity to ensure on site manufacturing assembles correct and compliant products.
- Help find the technologies needed to improve manufacturing processes.
- Provide support to Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, and outside suppliers to keep projects progressing following budget and timeline requirements. Complete cost estimates.
- Support the manufacturing, purchasing, QA, sales and marketing teams for new products.
You Have:
- Associates Degree or Technical Certificate in Manufacturing, Quality Assurance or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience manufacturing environment required.
- Read and comprehend a variety of instructions, including blueprints, diagrams and work instructions
- Understand and create accurate bill of materials and work instructions
- Take photos and insert into work instructions.
- Proficiency in Solid Works, Microsoft Excel, Labelview, Illustrator and ERP systems such as PLEX.
- Working knowledge of plastics manufacturing and assembly process.
- Observant of tactical execution.
- Knowledge of several domestic and foreign manufacturing disciplines and electro-mechanical design of consumer appliances is desirable.
- Safely operate bandsaw and other basic power tools.
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis is required; employer sponsorship for employment-based visa status is not available for this position.
- This is not a remote position.
