Machine Operator/Assembler

    In this role, you will operate all relevant machinery, tools, and equipment and undertake standard and complex production tasks safely and in accordance with instructions. Perform basic maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot problems, or arrange for supervisor to have equipment repaired or serviced by appropriate technicians. Have the ability to set up and operate specific Machinery, produce parts to specifications and see that the quality standards are met.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrate a high standard of work ethics, by example.
    • Promote methods for efficient operation.
    • Use standardized guidelines for setups, tooling, fixtures and equipment.
    • Promote a safe, clean work environment.
    • Maintain the necessary paperwork.
    • Ability to make setups (methods, tooling, and fixtures to assure proper methodology).
    • Input to revise methods (setups and fixturing to correct deficiencies).
    • Check and report repairs and make necessary adjustments to tools and fixtures before returning to assigned storage area.
    • Suggest improvements to implement cost reductions.
    • Ability to use and understand inspection tools and equipment.
    • Knowledge of blueprints and tolerancing, marking, etc.
    • Experience setting up and operating various equipment and machinery.
    • May be required to work overtime.
    • Meet work order timelines for on time deliveries.
    • Must be self-sufficient & team oriented.
    • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

    Education and Experience:

    • 1-3 years of production experience or educational equivalent preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Able to operate manual pallet jack & pull/ push 50 lbs.
    • Ability to analyze, communicate and present information accurately and succinctly.
    • Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and professional development.
    • Strong work ethic and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
    • Able to adjust to changing priorities – ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
    • Highly motivated team player with excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Capability to meet deadlines and attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Proficiency using electronic spreadsheets, word processing, preferably Microsoft Office applications.

    Working Conditions:

    • Will work independently in a Production environment on machinery within the Assembly department but will collaborate with other employees to complete tasks as assigned. Will spend most of their shift on their feet, operating machinery and doing assembly and other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager. Will have machine shop exposure and may be around weld hazards.
    • Hardware: Assembly and Production Machines, Welders, Induction Heat Treater, PC, Telephone, Printers, Copiers & Measuring devices
    • Software: Office Suite, Network Operating System as needed.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: From $17.00 per hour
