It is the mission of the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis to define, collect, maintain, analyze, and disseminate official institutional data. This office complies with federal and state mandated reporting requirements, participates in national surveys, administers student surveys, and publishes data pertaining to students, graduates, and employees. Data is made available to internal and external stakeholders for the purposes of informing decision-making, strategic planning, budgeting, and to measure effectiveness.

The Data Analyst is responsible for validating, extracting, processing and visualizing/dashboarding data on enrollment, courses, admission, degree completion, and faculty. This includes creating and maintaining a central repository of institutional data; analyzing data and producing routine standard data summaries; processing internal and external data requests; analyzing and reporting on assessment of US. Dept of Education grant-funded initiatives for student success. This full-time, administrative professional position supports the compiling and submission of routine data to the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE), and to other state, federal (IPEDS etc.), and external agencies and acts as a part of the university data management and governance team.
This position is funded through Oct 31, 2029, by a non-renewable Title V grant. Continuation of the position beyond that date is contingent on institutionalization of position funding.
Primary Duties

Respond to information requests of internal and external information users and stakeholders by compiling and analyzing institutional data and producing results for administrative units, academic units, and other key functional areas in the university as well as state and federal agencies.

Design and maintain interactive visual dashboards based on official data to standardize the mission-critical and periodic institutional reports for quick information retrieval in user-friendly formats and provide longitudinal comparisons.

Administer, analyze, and report results from student surveys.

Maintain updated dashboards, and other information on the Institutional Research website that emphasizes visual presentation of data, especially related to retention, persistence and graduation measures of student success.

Lead and conduct research and studies for the institution, including data collection, analysis, and reporting, provide timely updates, progress reports, and summary statements on student success data.

Fulfill reporting and data needs for assessment of Title V grant initiatives for student retention, persistence and graduation including for Annual Performance Reports for these grants on student success.

Analyze and summarize data to meet precise federal reporting criteria for national surveys and other needs. Data summaries include enrollments, courses, admissions, degree completion, and other data sets.
Ancillary Duties:
Support other institutional research and data collection efforts as needed.
Salary Range
$58,000-62,000
