Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated person to join our operations team as a Procurement Associate. The person will play a vital role in supporting the procurement process by assisting in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services essential for our operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with some prior experience in procurement or related fields to further develop their skills and grow within the organization.
Responsibilities:
· Vendor Management: Assist in identifying, evaluating, and maintaining relationships with suppliers/vendors. Conduct research to source new suppliers as needed and support in conducting supplier performance evaluations.
· Purchase Planning: Collaborate with sales, production and engineering teams to understand material requirements and assist in sourcing. Support material purchasing for new product development, prototyping and R&D activities. Spearhead BOM development for all new products and transition to production. Monitor inventory levels and assist in managing reorder points to prevent shortages.
· Negotiation Support: Provide support in negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable agreements. Assist in analyzing proposals and conducting supplier comparisons.
· Order Processing: Assist in generating purchase orders accurately and efficiently. Ensure all relevant information, such as quantities, pricing, and delivery dates, is included. Track order status and communicate with suppliers to coordinate deliveries.
· Data Management: Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, including purchase orders, contracts, and vendor agreements. Input data into procurement software/systems and assist in generating reports for analysis.
· Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and procurement procedures. Assist in verifying supplier credentials, certifications, and product quality.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as inventory management, logistics, and finance to support procurement activities and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
Qualifications:
· 1-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
· Familiarity with Inventory Management Software / ERP: Examples include Fishbowl, Zoho Inventory and QBO.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) is a plus.
· Ability to create supply chain maps and flowcharts.
· Eagerness to learn and grow within the procurement field.
· Basic Import and Export compliance knowledge is highly preferred

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
