• Ensures effective communications by developing and recommending media strategies, objectives and plans to strengthen company image, collaborating with the Tribal Manager, General Manager, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Director of Marketing and Advertising and Director Community Development to implement approved communication plans and programs, and maintaining an updated active media contact database.

• Develops and maintains media relations, strategies, tactics and goals by creating media relation plans and securing placements in print, broadcast and online media, and monitoring, analyzing and communicating results on a monthly and annual basis.

• Promotes Sycuan's image by interacting with media and the general public, narrating promotions, events, and media spots, interacting with television and radio personnel, promoting Sycuan through magazines, social media, newspapers, and television spots, and participating with public marketing events.

• Standardizes company communications and materials by writing and editing copy for various marketing materials, press releases, fact sheets, e-mail blasts, blog post, internal team member newsletters, and providing editorial and style assistance to the Creative Services Department for external and internal marketing materials.

• Bachelors' Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field or equivalent experience
• Public relations, publicity or communications experience for a large organization in a key communications position

• On camera experience
• Media experience (preferably in the San Diego market)
• Experience with social media engagement

• Excellent oral presentation skills
• Ability to present promotional information in front of cameras and microphones
• Ability to interact effectively with guests, external agencies, vendors, and team members
• Ability to prioritize and monitor multiple tasks and assignments
• Ability to write and edit articles and press releases
• Ability to create and execute plans and programs
• Ability to analyze data and make sound business recommendations
• Ability to present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
• Ability to complete forms, documents and written reports
• Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
• Ability to accept constructive criticism
• Ability to appear for work on time

• Graphic/web editing software experience
• Multi-lingual
