Ergon Refining, Inc., in Vicksburg is currently looking for a Maintenance / Project Engineering Supervisor. This is a support position to the Maintenance / Engineering Department of Ergon Refining, Inc. The Maintenance / Project Engineering Supervisor supervises the project engineering department and provides technical and engineering support as needed for the development, design, and implementation of miscellaneous projects as directed by the Maintenance / Engineering Manager.

Maintenance / Project Engineering Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Monitor the initiation, development, assignment and completion of general maintenance work orders and strive to identify areas in which improvement can be made to decrease failure and increase the efficiency of repairs.
• Provide technical / engineering support on a continual basis to the Mechanical Maintenance and IEC Maintenance Departments to coordinate work that involves multiple departments and to
• ensure that all maintenance-related tasks are completed in a professional and timely manner.
• Coordinate and / or schedule non-routine maintenance work including maintenance and emergency shutdowns.
• Develop completed project design specifications from basic conceptual ideas with limited direction
• Coordinates activities and assigns tasks & projects to all assigned direct reports
• Facilitate reviews and update quarterly and annual refinery capital budget
• Organize, prepare and conduct project review and status presentations with key personnel to further develop and review project details
• Monitor progress of all Ergon Refining, Inc. projects to verify schedule and budget requirements are met
• Review project details and equipment with Maintenance personnel (supervision, engineering, technicians) to ensure maintenance interests are addressed
• Prepare detailed project estimates and cost justifications and developing Authorizations for Expenditure (AFEs) and other documentation as necessary for management approval of projects
• Prepare and implement project schedules as needed for efficient completion of tasks utilizing all applicable workgroups and resources
• Secure coordinating and / or supervising contract consulting, engineering, design and vendor services for supplemental design assistance as needed to accomplish project goals
• Specify and procure parts and equipment as needed and verify compatibility with service conditions and applicable design codes. including bid specifications and evaluations, purchase and expediting delivery
• Document all phases of project design, construction and installation to verify compliance with Ergon Refining, Inc. specifications, all applicable design and construction codes, recommended practices, etc.
• Initiate, participate in, and ensure the completion of the Management of Change
• Procedure (including Pre-Startup Safety Reviews) for Project Engineering related activities
• Assist Maintenance / Engineering Department in thoroughly documenting general maintenance shutdowns, projects and lessons learned

Maintenance / Project Engineering Supervisor Qualifications:

• This requires a BS degree (preferably in civil or mechanical engineering) with 3 years experience in a petrochemical environment or fifteen years of experience in project management in a petrochemical environment
• Requires a self-motivated individual with strong leadership, communication, and organization skills.
• Must have successfully completed and passed a Functional Job Capacity Evaluation (FCE)
