Accounting Specialist 

What to expect

The Accounting Specialist is a meticulous, organized, and financially literate addition to 919’s People & Finance team. They will report directly to the company’s Controller and cross collaborate with a variety of internal departments such as Human Resources, Business Operations, and Account Services. The Accounting Specialist will multitask daily, handling a variety of accounts payable and receivable tasks while supporting the Accounting Manager, Controller, and CFO in reaching department goals. 

What you will do

• Support within the banking function of the agency, including categorizing expenses from Credit Card charges, matching deposits to invoices, etc.
• Verify accuracy of recurring invoices in QuickBooks to the company’s project management system and internal records.
• Manage and send invoices through the Accounts Receivable software (Armatic)
• Create customized invoices from the project management system in QuickBooks on a regular and one-off basis depending on client. Manage A/R efforts engaging with customers as needed for payment, sending reminders, etc.
• Organize and maintain filing of invoices, tracking of payments made for media spend, bills sent to the company, and relevant documentation.
• Make payments in appropriate platforms on behalf of the company, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and validity.
• Representative of the business to external parties and support to internal parties such as account services or leadership with requests and questions
• Manage physical mail sorting, depositing checks, and managing mail filing and sending to appropriate parties (CFO, Human Resources, etc.)
• Issue payment to vendors via check, ACH, and credit card
• Other duties as assigned

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
• Must by 
• 2 years of related work experience
• Must be willing & able to work in our Fort Lauderdale office at least 2 days a week
• Outstanding attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online
• Excellent Customer Service skills with proven ability to resolve issues with professionalism and clear verbal and written communication
• Strong mathematical skills
• Trustworthy and reliable
