The Role:
Join our team as a Materials Coordinator at our Amanda Park location! In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring smooth operations by efficiently procuring required parts and materials. You will work closely with production and maintenance teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of parts and supplies. Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain and monitor compliance with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.
- Process requisitions and replenishment orders for inventory and non-stock purchases.
- Obtain quotes from approved vendors.
- Place purchase orders with approved vendors and receive confirmations from vendors on delivery and pricing accuracy.
- Proactively manage inventory and reconcile open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and prompt receipt and payment of invoices.
- Maintain records of all transactions, purchase orders, and receipts.
- Monitoring of backorders and substitutions.
- Coordinate the return of products for credit when necessary.
- Troubleshoot cost, quality, and delivery concerns.
- Research, interact, and compare suppliers, goods, and services regarding reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency.
- Ability to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with external and internal customers and suppliers.
- Ensuring all documentation related to inventory flow is complete, accurate, and filed correctly.
- Identify, analyze, and address gaps in inventory processes.
- Back up and assist other Mill Material Coordinator responsibilities when needed.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable and vendors to resolve discrepancies specific to pricing, receiving, and match discrepancies.
- Be actively involved in the continuous improvement process.
- Provides sufficient updates to internal and external customers on backorders.
- Have a working knowledge of parts for each type of unit, general parts required, and an understanding of the subparts needed for installation.
- Manage mill parts and supply inventory.
- Ensure that the current MSDS for items purchased is always on file.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in purchasing or inventory management preferred.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software
- Detail-oriented with strong self-discipline and organizational skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks or projects concurrently.
- Self-starter able to work independently.
- High School Diploma or GED w/ basic math skills.
- Knowledge of plant equipment, operations, predictive/preventative maintenance systems, and effective project management practices
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization.
- Self-disciplined with attention to detail
- Must have strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Must be able to work effectively independently and in a team.
Work Environment
This role will operate in a professional office, log yards, and sawmill. While performing the duties of this job, employees will regularly be exposed to machinery and moving mechanical parts. This position will often be exposed to noise, hazards, airborne particulates, and temperature changes in indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
Position Type/Travel
This is a full-time position; overtime work may be required as projects or job duties demand. Travel may be required occasionally.

Position Type/Travel/Schedule
This position is exempt per FLSA guidelines and not eligible for overtime. A typical schedule requires the ability to work 40 hours a week. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends to accommodate critical goals and objectives may be necessary.
Benefits & Pay
- Starting Pay: $52,500 - $88,800 per year (starting wage dependent on qualifications and experience)
