The responsibility of the Materials Handler/Receiver is to receive, store and retrieve all incoming products as needed for shop production.
Essential Functions of The Job

Receive, count, store and retrieve all incoming products as needed for shop production

Label incoming product with correct job name, include received date on all perishable materials such as tapes/glues

Continually monitor inventory for proper labeling

Process receiving paperwork (per accounting requirements)

Count inventory monthly (or as needed)
-
Maintain warehouse cleanliness – removing empty pallets, keeping aisles clear, sweeping, keep outdoor pallets and parking lot in order

Operate forklift safely (will be licensed through D|fab)

Transfer material from inventory to departments as needed

Manage recycle bins by replacing full receptacles as needed, empty cardboard containers and operation of cardboard baler.

Other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor

Perform all job duties using standard safety practices and D|fab safety standards

Responsible for reporting safety concerns to supervisor

Responsible for following all company policies as stated in the D|fab employee handbook

Use time wisely and remain productive
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Adhere to work shift of 8:00am – 4:30pm
-
Adhere to OT requirements during busy months (March-November)

Must possess a current Hilo license (will also be trained and certified through D|fab)

Ability to identify wood and other products/materials for proper storage and inventory

Maintain forklift operator’s certification and renew as needed
-
Ability to follow written and oral directions

General computer knowledge to manage daily reports and email
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. of material, on an occasional basis, with use of a pallet jack if being delivered on one; otherwise, this individual would need to be able to lift without assistance.-
Ability to repetitively lift 20-30 lbs. on a regular basis multiple times/day.

Hilo driving: safe speed, no eating/drinking, no phone usage, no smoking and no earbuds while driving

Safety glasses must be worn at all times while in the shop
