Materials Management Supervisor supervises daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Management Supervisor coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations and staffing to enable workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Management Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Materials Management Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Management Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • Job Summary

    Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Manager, the Materials Management Supervisor will oversee and facilitate the movement of supplies and equipment throughout the facility by requisitioning, receiving, unpacking, repacking, stocking, and delivering supplies.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitors and maintains current inventory levels; processes orders as required, tracking orders and investigating supply chain issues. Reports inventory discrepancies and documents according to policy.
    • Receives, unpacks, and delivers goods, re-stocks central supply, office supply and other supply locations, as necessary.
    • Organize and stock Central Supply, Office Supply, and other supply locations, maintaining a clean and organized workspace to ensure par locations are free of dirt, dust, and trash.
    • Receive, process, track, and see through the delivery of order requests.
    • Process supply transactions on the computer.
    • Research medical supplies and prepare orders for new products requested by medical staff.
    • Label medical supplies with appropriate billable/non-billable, expiration, warning, and other labels per policy.
    • Monitor supply expiration dates and perform inventory audits, removing any expired inventory according to policy.
    • Identities opportunities to reduce cost and charges.
    • Maintain and improve contract compliance identifying opportunities to reduce cost and charges.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Ability reconcile inventory counts to invoices.
    • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent people skills and the proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.
    • Proficient with inventory reporting systems.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in materials management/supply chain/inventory control required. Healthcare experience preferred.
    • Licensure/Certification(s): None

    Physical Requirements

    This position requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk. The employee is occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs and reach overhead. The employee must lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
