Role Overview:
Waterfront Brands Coastal Division is seeking an experienced Materials Manager. This full-time position is located onsite at our office in Snow Hill, NC and supports manufacturing facilities in both North Carolina and Florida. Reporting to the Coastal Division Vice President, this position leads procurement, inventory, and management of materials required for production of a wide variety of watercraft lifts and accessories.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Develop and implement material planning strategies to ensure the timely availability of materials for production.
· Analyze production schedules and demand forecasts to determine material requirements.
· Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships to ensure the procurement of high-quality materials at competitive prices.
· Monitor inventory levels, track material usage, and manage stock to avoid shortages or excess.
· Implement inventory control systems and best practices.
· Control material costs by analyzing and managing purchase orders, inventory turnover, and cost-saving initiatives.
· Ensure that all materials meet company quality standards and specifications.
· Address quality issues and work with suppliers to resolve them.
· Supervise and train a team of multiple employees across two different states. Provide guidance and support to ensure effective performance and professional development.
· Continuously assess and improve material management processes and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
· Prepare and present reports on material usage, inventory levels, and cost performance to the leadership team. Provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.
· Ensure adherence to safety regulations, environmental policies, and industry standards related to material handling and procurement.
· Travel is required, approximately 30%, primarily to Florida.
Job Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Typically requires a minimum of seven years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
· Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, ERP software (preferably D365), and supply chain best practices.
· Comprehensive understanding of integrated supply chain management including demand planning, forecasting and procurement.
· Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
· Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of improving processes and driving efficiencies.
