This is a professional supervisory role overseeing a department working with individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities to find employment in their communities. The Director of Employment Services is responsible for managing Medicaid Waiver employment services while providing supervision to Direct Support Professionals and other employment support staff. This role requires a strong working knowledge and understanding of employment and benefits planning services in Missouri. Supervision is received from the VP/Employment Services.

JOB FUNCTIONS
Attends interdisciplinary team meetings as needed to discuss persons served in relation to service plans, progress, and possible changes in the service program.
Attends staff and leadership meetings and reviews new or revised policies and procedures as needed.
Reviews and approves annual Individualized Support Plans (ISP) and approved budgets for delivery of services authorized to include pre-vocational, job development, career planning, supported employment and benefits planning.
Support job seekers with career exploration to identify career goals, provide career development and counseling.
Coordinate all data collection for consumer monthly review and billing.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Measures stakeholder satisfaction and uses the results to implement change.
Provides supervision and hiring for all positions in employment and benefits services.
Ensure all required training is completed per contract and service requirements.
Performs other related work as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong working knowledge of employment initiatives in Missouri for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Strong knowledge of various developmental disabilities and corresponding agencies and services available for clients.
Strong working knowledge of interviewing methods, principles, and techniques.
Ability to collect and analyze information to make decisions concerning a person’s served support plan.
Ability to develop logical, realistic and practical service plans for persons with developmental disabilities.
Ability to negotiate and craft agreements with judgment and diplomacy.
Ability to lead and inspire colleagues to strive toward the agency’s vision and goals.
Ability to communicate effectively.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged sitting, standing, and frequent walking. Occasional bending, stooping, and kneeling. Occasional heavy lifting up to 50 pounds. Use of typical office equipment.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
A valid driver’s license and good driving record, as well as proof of current auto insurance is required.
