The Meat Manager is responsible for all aspects of our Meat and Homemade Sausage department operations and profitability and actively supports Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience by providing exemplary customer service and by effectively training, motivating, and leading their team.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provide direction, consistent training, and leadership for Meat and Homemade Sausage employees to ensure excellent customer service and team productivity. Monitor employee performance, provide coaching, feedback, and praise. Conduct annual employee performance reviews.
Financial Responsibilities: Responsible for meeting the financial budget as set forth by the store director by managing inventory, pricing, billing, labor, and shrink.

Stay current with industry trends and evolving customer tastes and needs by introducing and implementing new foods, recipes, and ideas. Attend company planning and strategy meetings, plan and participate in special sales and events. Develop employees’ skills, knowledge, and abilities to reach department and store objectives.

Physical Demands
Constant standing/walking/hearing and seeing for long periods of time. Frequent bending at waist, reaching with hands and arms, above shoulders/below waist, crouching/stooping/kneeling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 1500 lbs with use of pallet jack. This position requires close/distance/peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision.
