Meat Manager manages meat department operations within a grocery store. Suggests changes to inventory and pricing, and purchases supplies when needed. Being a Meat Manager monitors quality of meat products. Supervises department staff, responsible for staff training, assignments, and scheduling. Additionally, Meat Manager requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Meat Manager supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.     • Order and maintain all meat department product.
    • Read Cutting Lists
    • Cut All Primal Meats to Specific Techniques
    • Grind Meats
    • Understand Gross Profits and Inventories
    • Receive fresh deliveries
    • Maintain Meat Cases / Stock Meat / Rotate Product
    • Assist customers with requests and information
    • Know quality and code dating standards
    • Follow all store and department policies and procedures

    Key Attributes:

    • Must have Journeyman Meat Cutting Skills
