Mechanic Technician maintains and services a building or plant's mechanical equipment, control systems, power distribution systems, and HVAC systems. Performs preventative maintenance and routine repairs to systems and equipment. Being a Mechanic Technician conducts periodic safety and maintenance inspections to evaluate equipment for replacement and identify wear and damage. Uses technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to install, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair equipment, engines, and compressors. Additionally, Mechanic Technician orders parts needed for replacement and coordinates with service providers to complete maintenance tasks. Uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or work order system to track and document activities. Follows established safety procedures and regulations for hazardous materials handling. May have completed a trade apprenticeship or technical training. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechanic Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. A Mechanic/Technician is responsible for performing repair and maintenance services in our shop or on jobsites. This position will report directly to the Shop Manager. Mechanic/Technician must be self-motivate, pursuing the completion of their tasks efficiently. Our Mechanic/Technician must seek the highest quality while not overlooking the details of each task. This position requires good communication skills. As a Service Technician, you will be expected to communicate directly with our employees and staff providing ongoing diagnostic and service support.
Duties and responsibilities:
Perform quality repairs of all trucks, machinery, mowing equipment, etc. as assigned by the Shop Manager.
Work alongside the Shop Manager to manage time and parts for each repair or maintenance job.
Complete and ensure work orders are turned in in accordance with company policy.
Collaborate with employees to provide quality in the most efficient and timely manner possible.
Troubleshoot and diagnose service-related issues on trucks, machinery, equipment, etc...
Pursue and perform preventative maintenance services on all owned trucks, machinery, and mowing equipment, etc...
Keep individual workspaces clean and organized.
Work efficiently and effectively on any other task as determined by the Shop Manager. Tasks will very daily depending upon the needs of the company.
Position Requirements:
Dedicated self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive position productivity without the need for direct, constant supervision.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to facilitate coordination among multiple parties, oftentimes under specific timeframes and deadlines.
