Mechanical Designer jobs in Harrisburg, PA

Actalent Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanical Drafter/Designer opening with a connectors manufacturer that is located in Northern York County, PA. This is a contract position with an estimated duration of 5 months. This person will be responsible for utilizing Creo and supporting the design and engineering teams in the development of new designs and modifications as well as creating CAD models and detailed drawings from those designs.

Below is a summary of responsibilities for this position:

• Work in a highly dynamic product development environment with involvement in all phases of projects
• Participation in the conceptual stages of product development through detailed final designs for production.
• Communicate and work closely with other design engineers, production and test engineers.
• Support lead engineers and designers in the development of new designs and modifications
• Create CAD models and detailed drawings used for manufacturing
• Utilization of Creo and understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing methods, material selection

Below is a summary of requirements for qualified candidates:

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a technical/mechanical engineering or Computer Aided Design
• 4 years of current, related experience
• Additional skills include technical capacity, communication proficiency, problem solving/analysis and the ability to collaborate as a member of a team.
• Advanced proficiency with Creo.
• Proficiency with creating/revising production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).
• Ability to update Customer Application notes and Engineering Standards.
• Ability to communicate with Electrical, Mechanical and Process Engineering regarding new and revised designs
• Experience using PDMLink (Windchill) (preferred but not required

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour
