Mechanical Assistant

Job Location: Sonoma, California

Pay Rate: $24-$25/hour

Job Type: Long Term Temporary

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am-5:30pm

Description of Position:
Are you experienced in mechanical work and seeking a well-compensated job opportunity? A prestigious wine warehouse in Sonoma is currently seeking a Mechanical Assistant to provide maintenance support. The ideal candidate should possess basic metric and standard hand tool experience. This position is initially temporary for about a month but may extend based on performance and workload demands. Responsibilities include:

• General winery maintenance across production areas.
• Assisting in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, including water distribution systems.
• Ensuring work is conducted safely, adhering to established safety protocols.
• Performing ongoing preventative maintenance on equipment such as the Bottling line, Refrigeration Systems, and fire pump.
• Scheduling equipment maintenance with vendors as needed.
• Providing support to the Cellar and Bottling Supervisor during bottling processes.

Experience Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• General machine shop skills.
• Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be available to work scheduled days and have flexibility for different schedules or hours as needed.
• Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
