Actalent is looking to hire a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to support a client site near the mid-valley!

Description:

The Mechanical Engineer will have a variety of responsibilities including designing, developing, constructing, and maintaining capital equipment, as well as interfacing with customers. They will utilize a diverse skill set to effectively manage mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing aspects of the role. Day to day this person will be required to work with other engineers to support machine designs, component drawings along with part selection. A typical daily routine will likely include working behind a desk doing the actual design work, as well as going on the manufacturing floor to be involved with, and ensure, the mechanical equipment is being built properly.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or very similar discipline strongly preferred, but will give consideration for non-degreed ME's
• Ideally 2-6 years of practical mechanical design engineering experience, coming from a machine design/capital equipment/industrial background
  • Candidates outside this range of years may be given consideration depending on alignment
• Demonstrated competency utilizing 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks or Inventor) for capital equipment and/or industrial machine design
• Hands on experience working on a manufacturing floor, and understanding of various machining and fabrication techniques and processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to create BOM's and other technical engineering and manufacturing documentation, and ability to navigate customer conversations
• Project management experience, even if not formal or by title, is beneficial
• Motion control systems understanding, and/or experience setting up automation equipment, are a bonus
