Having an understanding of the design and drafting for street, water, sanitary sewers, storm drainage facilities, plats, and site plans for commercial and residential development projects will be highly beneficial as that is the focus of our company. Function:

The Technician will work independently, receiving general instruction from Project Managers and Engineers for desired results. Most of the tasks will involve AutoCAD Civil-3D for the design and drafting of county projects, municipal work, commercial developments and residential sites.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately create and modify Civil-3D drawing files for a variety of civil projects.
• Prepare base maps utilizing imported field data including point cloud, aerial imagery, field measurements, and/or conventional survey points.
• Draft construction plans consisting of project details, plan and profile sheets, site layouts, utility design, storm management, grading plan, street design, and cross-sections.
• Complete computations for earthwork volumes and project quantities.
• Assist with presentation graphics and report figures.
• Assist with digital filing of work products.
• Assist other departments with completion of drawings including base maps, record surveys, ALTA surveys, plats, maps, construction staking and/or FG digital terrain models.
• Secondary tasks include construction observation and assistance in fieldwork tasks.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil-3D.
• Associates degree in related field or equivalent years of experience.
• Ability to work independently.
• Willingness to travel and work outside occasionally.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred:

• Two (2) years minimum experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and associated design tools including: Surfaces, Alignments, Profiles, Cross Sections, Pipe Networks, Corridors, and Sheet Manager.
• Familiarity with GIS, plat maps, survey data, point-cloud data, aerial imagery, and spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of Civil and/or Structural drafting-design standards.
• Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Familiarity with field data collection, construction staking activities, and/or construction field observation.
