Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor supervises the routine maintenance and inspection operations for a facilities mechanical equipment, control systems, power distribution systems, and HVAC systems. Assigns maintenance and repair tasks to delegate workflow and manages a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or work order system to track work orders. Being a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor develops policies to guide technicians on processes, best practices, and safety protocols. Oversees preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections to identify wear and damages and evaluate equipment for replacement. Additionally, Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor selects, schedules, and coordinates vendors and outside service providers for specialized repairs or maintenance projects. Ensures all maintenance, repairs, and equipment comply with established safety protocols and regulations. Experienced with facilities maintenance processes and may have completed a trade apprenticeship or technical training. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. Basic Job Functions :
The Maintenance Mechanical Day Support will support the mechanical supervisor and / or maintenance leader of a given area in the responsibility of all mechanical maintenance of that area, to include continuous improvement of safety culture, predictive and preventive maintenance systems, team development, project coordination with an emphasis on projects that will produce bottom line results.
The position will be expected to lead, motivate, develop, and assist a team; manage large projects from start to completion;
communicate well with both production and maintenance; show concern for our customer’s needs; and wisely manage contractors and costs.
The person selected for this position will be expected to work nights, weekends, holidays, and cover shift when needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor;
therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements :
5 years steel mill related main experience.
