Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor supervises the routine maintenance and inspection operations for a facilities mechanical equipment, control systems, power distribution systems, and HVAC systems. Assigns maintenance and repair tasks to delegate workflow and manages a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or work order system to track work orders. Being a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor develops policies to guide technicians on processes, best practices, and safety protocols. Oversees preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections to identify wear and damages and evaluate equipment for replacement. Additionally, Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor selects, schedules, and coordinates vendors and outside service providers for specialized repairs or maintenance projects. Ensures all maintenance, repairs, and equipment comply with established safety protocols and regulations. Experienced with facilities maintenance processes and may have completed a trade apprenticeship or technical training. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     SUMMARY

    Stampede Ventures, Inc., a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Maintenance Supervisor to support a contract located on the East Coast. The Maintenance Supervisor will coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems as well as updating data systems for tracking.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the preventative maintenance program.
    • Evaluate systems or facilities to determine the maintenance and/or repairs that need to be performed.
    • Assess site systems to coordinate assignments and schedules.
    • Develop maintenance procedures and schedules.
    • Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
    • Assist with budget estimates and costs of repair projects.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO’s)

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 5 years of maintenance experience.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

    • Knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to identify repairs.
    • Ability to develop maintenance schedules for building systems.
    • Strong management skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

    • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

    Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required to diagnose building issues and identify and execute the maintenance or repair(s) required.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff and contractors.

    ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

    As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
