Media Coordinator is responsible for placing, confirming and monitoring media orders. May assist in research for the development of the media plan. Being a Media Coordinator is primarily an administrative role. May require a bachelor's/associate's degree in area of specialty and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Media Coordinator has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.     General Definition of Work
    Performs intermediate professional work developing and maintaining the library collection, attending
    and leading various meetings, assisting students and teachers with technology operation in the media
    center, maintaining library materials and collections, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is
    performed under the moderate supervision of the principal.

    Essential Functions

    • Teaches and instructs students and staff on media or technology related topics.
    • Collaborates with teachers.
    • Maintains and catalogs books and AV collections.
    • Orders new library books and materials.
    • Updates the media web page.
    • Serves on various teams and attends various meetings and trainings.
    • Provides assistance and support to the Technology Facilitators and classroom teachers.
    • Works with the AP to maintain and circulate the textbooks.
    • Assists with maintaining a clean and organized collection and media center.
    • Provides support and guidance to student assistants.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Thorough knowledge of professional media and library principals, materials and practices.
    • Thorough knowledge of audio visual and computer processes, equipment and software.
    • Thorough knowledge of prescribed school system policies and procedures.
    • Ability to evaluate library and technology programs and services and to develop improved
    methods.
    • Ability to learn specialized equipment or software related to business needs.
    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and staff.

    Education and Experience
    Bachelor's degree in teaching, or related field and moderate experience teaching, or equivalent
    combination of education and experience.

    Physical Requirements

    • This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force.
    • Work regularly requires speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently

    requires standing, walking and sitting and occasionally requires climbing or balancing, stooping,
    kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and
    repetitive motions.

    • Work has standard vision requirements.
    • Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken
    word.
    • Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.
    • Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving

    small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, operating machines and observing
    general surroundings and activities.

    • Work has no exposure to environmental conditions.
    • Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
