Position: Monterey Bay area Community Radio station KSQD seeks a Business Development Representative to engage local businesses to become sponsors of our great programs. This part-time position is perfect for someone who wants to build a healthy, supplemental source of income. The Business Development Representative will generate contacts with local businesses who would like to underwrite programs on the station and who want to support our mission. The successful candidate will be familiar with local businesses and will be comfortable representing KSQD, a community radio station serving the Monterey Bay area. They will build up a roster of paid underwriting business clients to support the station. Underwriting is the non-commercial equivalent of a radio ad, an informative sponsorship acknowledgment. We offer 30% commission and performance bonuses.

This is a part-time, commission-based sales position perfect for someone who wants to build a healthy, supplemental source of income for themselves. KSQD is a growing station reaching the entire Monterey Bay area with a loyal following and a positive community mission. Businesses who underwrite want to support the goal of building community and bringing people together and reach our audience.

This contract position involves emails, phone call, and in-person visits with business owners, marketing directors and agencies. Position reports to Board of Directors of Natural Bridges Media.

Compensation:

30% commission plus bonuses for large accounts

Qualifications:

• Previous local ad sales experience, ideally in media industry
• Local business contacts a plus
• Understanding of/appreciation for the values of community radio
• The ideal candidate is personable, outgoing, reliable, hard-working, and is flexible enough to work independently in a startup environment.

This is a contract position.

Pay: $1.00 - $5,000.00 per month

Expected hours: No less than 15 per week
