Media Production Manager jobs in Chicopee, MA

• Create recordings within the Town of Granby, including government meetings, school sports, and other community events. Tasks will include preparing, transporting and setting up equipment, filming events, editing video, and publishing content on social media and cable access channels.
• Regularly update Cable Access channels with relevant and timely content.
• Create and upload content for GCAM’s social media channels as well as distributing a monthly newsletter to GCAM’s membership.
• Organize and maintain video production equipment.
• Assist the Executive Director with creating a schedule of events to be recorded.
• Assist the Executive Director with the training of volunteer community producers in the use of production equipment , as well as video editing. Provide ongoing technical assistance as required.
• Perform special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Demonstrated ability to complete an assigned media project through pre and post-production, executing all intermediary steps.
• Ability to provide information to the community in person, by email, in writing, through social media, and by telephone.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Position requires a HS diploma or GED. AAS Degree or two years Vocational/technical school in video production is preferred.
• Ability to operate TV, video editing and computer equipment.
• Background in Community Media preferred, but not required.
• Ability to plan and prioritize, manage assignments and deadlines, as well as work and problem solve independently.
• A valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle are required.
• Employment is contingent on a standard background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Position requires ability to walk, stand, sit, talk and hear; uses hands to operate tools or controls. May need to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 30 pounds such as equipment, supplies, etc. Vision and hearing must be at, or correctable to, normal ranges. EXPECTED SCHEDULE

This position is up to 20 hours per week, including regular evenings, weekends and/or holiday work. Attendance at a minimum of 1-2 evening events or meetings per week is required. Work will take place at the GCAM Offices, as well as various locations throughout the Town of Granby, MA.

COMPENSATION

• Hourly: $17 to $22, commensurate with experience.
• Mileage reimbursement when traveling to record or attend work related events provided at IRS rate.
• Vacation, and Sick Time.
