Medical Device Lab Technician works in a laboratory setting, producing medical devices such as prosthetics or orthotics, implants, or other devices. Configures and constructs devices to specifications established by a physician or other health care provider. Being a Medical Device Lab Technician utilizes tools and precision instruments to result in customized fit, optimal function, and maximum comfort for the patient. Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles defective or worn devices or appliances. Additionally, Medical Device Lab Technician works closely with the Orthotist or Prosthetist. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Device Lab Technician works under moderate supervision. Under the general direction of the Electric Meter Installation Project Manager and/or Field Supervisor(s), the team will consist of technician’s trained on residential and commercial Electric Meters. Training is at $18/hr and usually lasts about 2-3 weeks. Pay is based on production once training is successfully completed.
Technicians can make $20-30/hour or more depending on production levels. There is no cap on production pay!
Candidates must live in the El Paso area as there is not a relocation allowance nor per diem associated with this position.
Responsibilities include:
· In some cases, a technician may be asked to work evening hours to manage some commercial exchanges

After successful completion of training, technicians can earn $20-$30/hr or more depending on production. There is no cap on production pay!
Monday – Friday, with Saturday work available at times, if necessary
Work hours are usually an 8 hour shift, generally between the hours of 7am – 5pm. Usually, the shift is 7am - 3:30pm with a 30 minute lunch period, however, this may vary based on project needs.
There may become a minimal need to work some commercial accounts on an evening or overnight shift.
