Configures and constructs devices to specifications established by a physician or other health care provider. Being a Medical Device Lab Technician utilizes tools and precision instruments to result in customized fit, optimal function, and maximum comfort for the patient. Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles defective or worn devices or appliances. Additionally, Medical Device Lab Technician works closely with the Orthotist or Prosthetist. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Device Lab Technician works under moderate supervision. - Package finished products for shipment
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in assembly or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Proficiency in using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions and schematics
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues
