American Colors, Inc. is customer-focused manufacturer of liquid colorants and specialty chemicals supplied to diverse applications that include paint, coatings, adhesives, composites, films, and landscape & agriculture. Our laboratory work involves the use of specialized equipment and hands-on activity.
Qualifications:
- Laboratory or manufacturing experience helpful, but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; basic math, reading, writing, and computer skills
- Willingness to comply with all safety guidelines
- Acceptable color vision, physically capable of manual labor and work 8-hour shifts
- Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
Summary of Position:
- Assist laboratory personnel by preparing sample batches, performing quality tests, and conducting formulation trials, including visual and numeric color matching.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify and apply necessary adjustments on products and samples.
- Safely perform hands-on lab work to verify formulations and specifications utilizing equipment and processes including, but not limited to:
Particle dispersion by media milling and high-speed mixing
Particle size analysis
Color spectroscopy
Physical testing suite including viscometers, non-volatile analyzer, pH
measurement, moisture titration, accelerated weather testing
- Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory activities including but not limited to formulations, test results, status updates, and project reports
- Work as a team with lab personnel to accomplish mutual goals and provide service to our customers.
